DFF/826 Valencia Workshop Screening
This Sunday 11.16 (which also happens to be Carlton's b-day) we'll be screening films made during the 826 Workshop we taught this Fall. The kids all made pretty amazing films (especially in the short amount of time they had). And we'll also be showing a few selections from our '08 program.
So if you're around, come on over to:
KQED at 4pm.

DFF to screen in Sweden
We're stoked that The New Media Meeting-an international media arts festival that takes place in Sweden-will be showing the DFF '08 program on September 20th in their Screening Room. It looks like a great program with a lot of interesting video artists, and if you happen to be in Sweden take some disposable video of the festival for us!

First DFF a great success!
Artists' Television Access was filled to the brim, so much so that we didn't have room to seat everyone! We decided to do an impromptu second screening, and much to our surprise and delight, the second screening was more packed than the first.
After a wonderfully appreciative audience was guided through comedy, dreamscapes, experimental imagery, noir, and much more, the winners were announced:
1st: Dave Dunn - Throws & Helium Balloon
2nd: Marco Mucig - Eppur si muove
3rd: Luca Antonucci & Ira M. Owen - Balloon Project: Berlin
Due to the tremendous success, we're going to be doing a lot more with this festival! Just to give you a taste, we're going to be taking it on a mini tour- dates & places TBA, so stay tuned.
